I personally would wait for the Switcheasy Rebel Touch. If you need one now, the Speck Candyshell is an awesome case and so is Griffen's Vue. You might also want to check out iFrogz line up.

I'm holding out for the iPad nano. I heard they're gonna lack some features but be much smaller and pocketable. It is rumored that they'll have 3.5 inch screens. Oh wait... iPod touch :p

Exactly.
I remember running into his "posts" in almost every thread I clicked on that afternoon. It really ticked me off.You would have gone nuts when Sammy D was posting.
His name even gets bleeped out now. *****, *****, *****. See. ;)

Wow, Australia has a download limit? Didn't know that. :D
Have you ever gone to the iTunes store and checked how big movie downloads are?
Its days like these that paying $80 for unlimited feels justified.

Looks like it's only for Android, but I couldn't resist.

So, no one thinks the additional 150ish pixels of height is worth it, then?? (for the 23")
...Actually as I indicated in my post, the extra height in pixels is worth it, especially for photo work.
Another thought.. do the demo screens come with the full warranty?

And Alex. I have wondered what has happened to the other regulars? I still listen to the show but...
I'm not sure either, I think perhaps Leo wanted some new or different people on the show, I'm not sure. It's still a good show though.

Oblivion is great in that sense, your character has a lot of freedom in what he can do, you can find quests everywhere you go, it really is open ended and feels like a MMORPG.
The graphics are really nice (though the faces are very poorly modeled).
The only thing not as open ended is the combat, gear and leveling system, it only lets you go one way and scales everything to your level, meaning if you are a level 1, you'll never find an uber monster like a daedroth or anything, that really sucks, also, you'll never get any gear thats better than what you have, this makes the game very dull in the sense that you either get light armor or heavy armor (both end up being the same actually) and it will ALWAYS be the same for each level.
Oblivion's Oscuro Overhaul fixes a lot of stuff about this and in my opinion its a mod you really should start playing with from the beggining, Bethesda really bombed the leveling, skill and gear system.
That being said, I didn't particularly liked the game (then again, I seem to hate good games, I was so unimpressed by God of War and IGN wants to have their baby practically) but I thought it was ok, in any case it still managed to suck 70 hours out of my life :)
I do recommend it but on PC, with a few mods AND Oblivion Oscuro Overhaul, this last one I separate it from mods because its essential to the Oblivion experience.
I haven't tried Shivering Isles but I heard it introduces at least one good character (Sheogorath), Oblivion doesn't have any memorable characters (they are all dull, boring and in some cases rather annoying) or any interesting story plot lines, Oblivion has the story and character development of minesweeper at best. This is not an RPG, more like an open ended adventure game.
In any case to answer your question, yes, Oblivion is as open ended as you think.

OMG, post a review, n00b! :D (I might get it, too :o ).
On the outset the game runs in iPhone mode on the iPad and looks crap. I shat you not. I am fairly pissed, I didn't notice this but it's my fault. It says it's ok for the iPad.
Will try on my 3G.
Update: It took well over 2 minutes to load on my 3G. It is not even worth playing at that point. I did install then reboot the device. Once it did load the gameplay is fun, like on RockBand (which I bought as well previously). The problem I do have is without headphones you can't hear the music in the beginning but you're "playing" chords.
I mean it's worth the $3, what's $3 today right? But on the 3G it loads like a bear. I did in fact get past a song and it didn't crash. We'll see what happens if I try to play after using my phone throughout the day. RockBand crashed on me a number of times.
On the new iPhone this game should be a dream. They are indeed relying on in-app purchasing. Once you get through their small amount of songs on all three levels you're going to want more I'd imagine.
It running on the iPad is nice but the fact that it's not optimized for it sucks.

OK, I solved this one.
Apparently the ATI drivers I downloaded and installed back in January did not properly install. They worked but they left some things undone. Installing a newer copy of the ATI drivers direct from their site cleaned up this problem.
How did I know that this was actually going to work? During the install of the drivers they name some of the items they are installing, which happened to be a whole lot of .NET items.
Go figure
