Apple should have launched Verizon version along with AT & T delays might have affected its sale.

Deadly!!
Wonder what price they will be by christmas (i bloody hate the term 'the holiday season'!!) anyone any thoughts?
New toast sounds tasty also. Drag and drop will be nice. I hate the procedure involved in burning discs.
Though this will I'm sure require some little toast prog to run in the backround, which is one of my big windows hates!!
Embed that feature in leopard I say.

Maybe the software, but the drive itself may be only compatible with Blu-Ray rather than HD-DVD. Different wavelenghts and all. Could be wrong though, I just think that Apple might let you REAd HD-DVD, just not write....
Cheers
Correct. The operating system will support both formats, you then require a Blu-Ray drive for Blu-Ray support and/or HD-DVD drive for HD-DVD support. The ability to write as well as read will not be limited, it will depend on the hardware.

The proximity sensor was the problem all along and is a complete redesign on the white phone.
Hmm, that would be interesting. Let's see what iFixit will say about that.

Hi,
Just to give a quick backstory; I spent years going back to school for design and at last I've finally acquired my degree. I now have a budding freelance business with a handful of small clients, all of whom are relatively civil, good natured and appreciative of my work.
Recently a long distance client I really get along with referred me to someone. He hired me to do a logo for his marketing startup. He was pleased with the end result and asked me to take on a second project, designing a mockup for a website that he could then turn over to a developer. He set a time limit of 3 hours, because that's all he could afford. Everything was going fine till about 2 hours in. He liked the direction I was going in, so while I was waiting to hear back I did some small revisions (off the clock), just to satisfy my own design sensibilities. I sent them to him to see what he thought. He suddenly calls me saturday afternoon and from the get go, seems to have an attitude. He wants to go over all the revisions I sent him. So I scramble for my macbook. As I'm going through my folders in search of the files he starts getting flustered and belittling. I offer to call him back in an hour after I've gathered everything and before one of us says something we'll regret, but he wants to stay on the phone and takes an even more offensive tone. I'm a laid back guy, but I had enough and firmly reminded him that I was trying to design a site for him within a 3 hour limit and had been good enough to not bill him for all the phone time he insisted on and had even stopped the clock a couple of times. He then startled to backpedal and complimented me on my work and how fair my pricing was ($25.00 an hour). The conversation went on for about another half hour as in the aftermath we awkwardly discussed the project. I think I did a pretty good job of remaining diplomatic. I've now just about completed the project and now he's talking about having me design a business card:rolleyes: The whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth. I know there can always be an element of stress with any type of work is, but that was a bit much.
Sorry for the rant, but I felt like I needed to vent to fellow designers. Anyone else have any horror stories?:)

In an article about Pegatron's net losses for the first quarter of DigiTimes reveals (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20110427PD217.html) that the iPhone 4 manufacturer is said to be lowering their production of CDMA (Verizon-compatible) iPhone 4s in 2011 from the originally expected 10 million units down to only 5 million units. Meanwhile, Pegatron originally expected to ship 10 million CDMA iPhone 4s in but sources from upstream component makers pointed out that Apple's orders already saw a significant reduction and the volume is estimated to drop to only five million units.CDMA refers to the radio technology used by Verizon for their mobile phones. The CDMA iPhone (aka Verizon iPhone) was launched in February of this year and saw 2.2 million activations (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/21/verizon-activates-2-2-million-iphones-in-q1-2011) in the partial first quarter of its launch. Despite the years of speculation about a Verizon-compatible iPhone, its reception may have been ultimately tempered by the late introduction in the iPhone 4's lifecycle as well as many customers still being locked into existing contracts.
Apple is widely expected to introduce a new iPhone later this year. That new iPhone will likely be a global device (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/21/verizon-cfo-reveals-next-iphone-to-be-a-global-device), incorporating both CDMA and GSM technologies into a single design.

Dude, could you be any more obvious with an username like that? Get real dude.
Or we could compare smartphone models where the iPhone models would win again or we could compare actual smartphone brands which would again have Apple beating android brands.
If you want to compare iOS to Android then you have to include iPod Touches and iPads. They all run iOS and can basically run the same set of iPhone/iPod Touch or universal apps. It is not Apple's problem that almost nobody is making a non-phone android device in the same form factor as the iPod Touch. It is also not Apple's problem that Android tablets have been a flop.
If you are developer on iOS, you can target iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads with the same app if you choose so they can be consider one platform as far as universal apps are concerned.
You are missing it arn't you. When people do a graph to compare smart phone OSs they do not take the graph and account tablets, MP3 players or tvs they only count the items that are sold as phones.
I often do see apple users making comparisons to android such as "Androids have worst battery life." which is a broad comparison to it. It is also not true. The Atrix now holds the title as the longest lasting smart phone OS.

Does anyone else think this is a desperate attempt by Adobe to stay in the tablet game?
They're making software for a device produced by a company that wants nothing to do with them.
Does the software use Adobe's AIR?
Since when did Apple say they wanted nothing to do with Adobe. They didn't want support one piece of software on a mobile devices. I hardly think that qualifies as wanting nothing to do with them.
I think this is great and I am glad Adobe is doing more for the iPad and iPhone.

I am not a webdesigner so could someone explain the TEXTAREA upgrade? It sounded like a good idea when I read it, but it seems to have struck a nerve with a couple people, and I'm not sure why. I'm guessing it would be like if I went to an art auction and bought a painting by Monet, I bring the painting home and realize that the wallspace I have for it isn't wide enough, so I grab a corner of the painting a pull it down, hence making it skinnier and fitting my wall? Nobody would ever consider doing that to a Monet, yet isn't this what the new TEXTAREA feature does?
I think you have it backwards, the feature is destroying the art to make room for something else, not destroying the art so it fits a predefined space. It's more like having a beautifully built house, realizing that the dining room isn't big enough for the table you'd like, then taking a sledgehammer and bashing several walls down to make it bigger.
Yes, it sounds like a good idea. No, it will not work perfectly with all websites. No, web designers will not expend much effort making it work correctly, because nobody uses Safari and this feature isn't even an official standard.
So basically it will ruin more than a few pages, but all the mac centric websites will make sure it works perfectly with theirs. It all depends on how the layouts (wait for it...) laid out.

I'll go out on a limb here and say you are a fan of Marvel comic books.;)
Not the biggest fan TBH but I have always been a fan of comic book art...
...indeed, busier than my normal wallpapers but the colors pop on my screen and it looks rad imo. :D

Some of you by now may have noticed I always seem to have Michael Jackson or South Park wallpapers (Okay, I doubt any of you have noticed because I'm not well known) but I can't wait for his new album out in two weeks! (My wallpaper is part of the cover... had to crop it for my desktop size)
Might switch to a Christmasy wallpaper in a week or two...
