:confused: Guys ,
I just checked my I140 approval notice and it shows LUD as July 28th 2007
I am totally confused as to why it shows that since my I140 is approved since a long time .
I have applied for 485 on June 29th 2007 and it reached USCIS TSC on July 2nd 2007.
Does the LUD on my I140 have anything to do with my 485 Application ??
Please advise ?

Looks like some kind of system maintenance.

She will need to complete a 3 year waiver in medically underserved area or a 2 year home return before you can file for her adjustment of status(I-485).
We had faced a similar situation 3 years back and decided to go ahead with it since looking at the backlogs I am assuming with my PD of 2007 I am still way off from getting my GC.
So now my wife is completing her residency in June this year and has a waiver job lined up. Once/ If dates become current I will file for her I-485 after the waiver is complete.

IT in canada is in a bad shape.....very difficult to maintain a good job.....people get citizenship after 3 years...and they move to usa on TN visa...
I agree, IT might be in a bad shape in Canada, and indeed, coming back on a TN visa is indeed shorter than waiting for 6/7 years for a GC, not to mention that one gains self driven job mobility.

DLs are all managed at State level, but there is an effort to standardize it. My wife applied for DL/Learner's permit in AZ. We had H4 valid thru Aug 31, and an extension starting Sep 1, but they refused to give us the extended period. Their explanation - the software would not allow it. They could not enter information based on 2 documents because the Notice of the extension did not become effective till Sep 1. We had to go back & get it extended, and they did it without another test. But we had to pay another fee.
And, I basically got a lifetime DL because I had applied way back in the good old days, 1998!

um...but at the time my new employer offering me a position with an official offer letter, my current H1b status could be expired for over 3 to 4 months...(I am sure they want me to work for them since the partner there is my previous boss)
Shouldn't I take any action to protect my current H1b status???Like file a H1b transfer application which I know would definitely be rejected since I am unable to get a pay stub.
By the way, I didn't file I-140 or I-485 since my previous Labor Certificate is still in process for over 2 years (filed on July 2005)!!!Please consider these factors in my case~

Thanks for replying. Were the I-140s EB2 or EB3? Coz i have seen a LOT of EB2s taking significantly more time than Eb3.
For eg. I filed for labour in Jan and it already got approved thru PERM coz it was EB3. a couple of my friends have filed in EB2 aand have waited significantly longer.

Company A - EB3 � PD Nov 2004.
Company B - EB2 � PD Feb 2007.
In July-2007 I applied 485 Using Company A EB3. In Apr-2008 I moved to Company B and In Feb 2009 my attorney sent an interfiling request to change the category on my EB3 case to EB2.
My attorney also told that, in general this kind of update look complex to the USCIS people and ignore the request.
If that happens then the next thing is to let our senator or congress man call to USCIS and request them to show more attention on that interfiling request. And you should do this after 3 months after sending the interfiling request.
One question, did you received the same alien number on both the I-140s or not? In my case my alien numbers are also different.
Also as of today I did not know whether my interfiling is success or not. The only way I will know about it is by calling the service center, which I haven�t done yet.
My attorney has confidence that we can get the category changed.
Also as mmrao2007 specified, my attorniey also sent the documents with a covering letter with a colored paper and big bold letters on top, explaining the case and related case numbers.

You should apply for a SSN. If you find a job, the employer will ask you to fill-up a W4 Form. To set you up in company payroll, SSN would be a requirement.
Also, as some other people have mentioned, even if you don't plan to work, you should still get a SSN to establish your credit history.
Applying for a SSN and getting it and has NO impact on your immigration status.

I am positively sick of seeing the same "case received and pending" status on my I-485 case for the past two years (almost). I call CIS and they parrot like repeat the same status which I see on their website. They tell me they have no further information.
I simply can't take it any more. I have already paid unnacceptably high human cost for this GC. If my case has any discrepency and it is going to be rejected eventually, then I dont see any point of working in US from this point onwards itself. I would rather move back to India and use this time to build my career there.
I can hang on only if I somehow get to know if my case has been pre-adjudicated for approval, and no more bureaucratic actions are required on it. But how do I do that?
Any ideas?

In another thread, IV is proposing only pushing filing 485 before priority date. I try to understand what the benefits are by filing it. For one thing, you can switch jobs after 6 months? How about setting up your own consulting company?

Are you just trying to get people to click somewhere so that it generates ads revenue for you. The links you provided only open up windows that shows ads. I think you are a thug because don't have correct profile here, at the same time you are using some other webiste to track your GC to generate revenue for someone else, and now you are trying to lure people to visit that site. Are you kidding me $400.00 I paid $115.00 Including tetanus shot and tb shot. $35.00 for the lab work and my husband's insurance covered the x-ray because I Knew it would com back positive. What a rip off
It depends, paid 400 a piece. We were in a hurry to get our applications down to uscis by 2nd july... had to go to nearest physician and he charged about 400 a piece and no x-ray was needed. I wanted to get the I-693 asap and got it in 3 days.
Question is Why in the world is this doctor asking for more than 1 tetanus shot? 1 tetanus is good for I believe 10 years. Are you talking about MMR?

Non - English speaking or not isn't it the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle to drive following the rules of the Road. Why make a U-turn where it is not allowed. Why turn when it is written NO turn on Red. Is it the fault of the sign that you cannot read English.
US is an English speaking nation although people from all parts of the word live here. We have to abide by the common language which is English and not Spanish. The DMV cannot post sign in hundreds of languages that different people speak.
If the driver violated the law he must be given a ticket unless it is his first offence when a warning would be sufficient. Rules are meant to be followed.
